HOWGS

The Heart O' Wisconsin Genealogical Society will perform a lookup for one surname for a $10 fee. They will search the following indexed materials and provide a report.

1. Wood County Cemetery Index

2. 1923 Wood County History

3. Local Newspapers, 1858-1906 and 1956

4. Wood County Centennial Papers

5. Civil War Soldiers

6. Wood County Plat Books: 1878, 1890, 1909

7. Marriage Records 1867-1907

Please send a large, SASE with two stamps for the initial search. Lookup requests without SASE will not be answered. Send your lookup request and $10 per surname to:

McMillan Library

McMillan Memorial Library will do basic searches such as lookups from specific sources, such as obituaries where the date of death is known, or searches of the cemetery index or the 1858-1906 birth/marriage/death indexes. Complex search requests will be forwarded to the Heart O' Wisconsin Genealogical Society.

The library does not charge a research fee for requests of reasonable length, however donations are welcomed and appreciated.
